What is a PTAC?
A PTAC (Packaged Terminal Air Conditioner) is a self-contained air conditioning unit that combines the functions of an air conditioner, a heater, and a refrigerant system into a single unit. It’s typically mounted on a wall or floor and consists of a thermostat, compressor, condenser coils, evaporator coils, and a fan, all within a single cabinet. This compact design makes PTACs ideal for small spaces like basements, attics, or rooms with limited airflow, as they provide efficient cooling and heating without the need for ductwork or extensive plumbing.
